The Past 24 Hours (in Instagram Photos)

Made two ingredient banana ice cream found here! So delicious and healthy!
Painted my nails outside so I could enjoy the beautiful weather!
More or less used this recipe to make a lemon slush!
Decided to get rid of an old picture holder I had for this very simple yarn and clothes pin DIY project.

DIY Rotating Goal List

I got this idea to make a rotating goal list and the design for it from Rachel at Cornflower Blue. I obviously changed things up a bit to fit my own needs.

What you need:

  • Frame
  • Thick paper (I used sketchbook paper but I would just suggest something that won't fade over time)
  • Sharpie marker (or regular black marker)
  • Fine tip sharpie marker
  • pencil
  • Sticky notes for outline
  • scissors (optional)
  • ruler (optional)
I started out by measuring the paper and cutting it out to fit inside the frame. I then eyed where I wanted the squares to lie and traced an outline with the sticky note pack. I then made a box on the top for the title and the date.
Once I was finished with that I erased all my pencil lines (make sure the sharpie dried on the paper). I then added some more designs and hung it on my wall. Lastly, I put in my goals for this week!
I chose to use a frame because it looked cool and I can use the glass to write with dry erase markers. I figured if I used sticky notes that would be a waste of paper, plus they don't stick to the glass.
I put it right next to my door so I would be sure to see it!

Airplanes

via nota bene
Everyone who reads this probably already knows that I have an interview with US Airways for a flight attendant position. In the back of my mind I have always thought it would be so interesting to work for an airline. I have always loved the airport because I loved the idea of being able to go somewhere new.

As you may know I'm having a terrible time trying to find jobs. I feel like I'm the only one of the secondary education majors to not get a substitute teaching job. That was really really hard because I worked so hard in school to come out with nothing. I also started to get fed up  with the education job search because no one is hiring history teachers. I also don't have faith in my abilities which makes me put even more pressure on myself.

On Valentine's Day I figured I would look for flight attendant jobs on Monster.com. I thought this was kind of a far fetched idea because all you hear about are airlines laying off people and raising prices. However, it must have been my lucky day because I came across the posting for US Airways. I filled out the application that day and very shortly after I received a call for a phone interview. I was ecstatic.

However, that was short lived. I felt like the weeks were passing by with nothing. Honestly, it was only like  two weeks but when you are ready to move onto bigger and better things that feels like a lifetime. I started to be very cynical about the job and my abilities. I was just about to give up when I got an e-mail. I started reading and my heart dropped because I thought they were telling me I wasn't good enough for the job. I cleared my mind and read it again and realized it was an e-mail I had already received. My friend told me that he thought maybe there was just a glitch in the system so I just let it be.

The next day I received another call from US Airways. They were calling to tell me that they wanted to set up an interview! I was so excited that I thought they said phone interview again so when the man on the other line told me the next available interview they had was on March 28 I thought it was kind of weird that they wouldn't have phone interviews until that late. I quickly realized that this was a REAL interview and good thing I don't have to work that week or else that would have made me look really bad!

I've never had a real adult interview before. I'm nervous but excited. I need to get an interview outfit. Ideas of where I can buy something kind of cheap for my interview? I'm also being flown out for the interview! I am not sure where yet, but I am thinking it's either Phoenix or Charlotte.

I started to feel guilty about this because I feel like I should be doing something more worth while, like teaching. However, I've been praying that God will lead me where He wants me. I realized that I am a pretty good worker. Yes, I get stressed a lot, but I rarely ever complain at work about my jobs. I am willing to work extra and help out co-workers. This type of attitude is what a follower of Christ looks like and if that is how God wants me to fulfill His will than so be it.

Please continue praying for me as I move on to the next stage of my life.

Call to me and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know. - Jeremiah 33:3

Thrift Store Friday

On Friday it was a beautiful day and I really wanted to spend some time outside. Unfortunately I was at a loss for what to do. I always feel awkward going to parks by myself (one reason I need a dog) and it was too chilly just to sit. Then Hannah called me and asked me if I wanted to go to New 2 You on Taft! She also said she wanted to walk there and I was very happy to say I'd join. The walk was so nice, but it was a little cold and by a little cold I mean it was very cold and windy. We stuck it out though.
I absolutely love thrifting and going to vintage stores. I wish I had an unlimited supply of money so I could spend hours there.
Above are some of the things I saw but that I didn't purchase. I loved those yellow jars! Below is what I did buy! Hannah said she saw a copper tea pot that she thought I would like and something I could put plants in. She was right! When I saw it I fell in love. It has a whole in the bottom anyways so it can't be used for anything but decorations. I'm going to buy some more succulents because to put inside. FYI I collect tea pots. This is number 4 in my collection. I also bought the Brunches and Breakfasts cook book. I love breakfast and brunch  foods so I thought it was fitting.
On our way back we were going to walk past Urban Outfitters so of course we had to stop by! I cannot go into that store without buying something. I ended up buying earrings (which I needed because I keep losing earrings, a book on how to make drinks, a 3D map of London, and the skirt in the picture below.
Also, I leave for North Carolina on Friday. That means 4 more days! However, I have a feeling this is going to be a very slow week! Let's hope not!

Road Trip

Next weekend my friend and I are going to Durham, North Carolina to visit my cousin. I am so very excited for this trip! I love road trips especially to North Carolina because they mountains are my favorite. It's supposed to be a 9 hour trip, but hopefully we'll make it in less time.

Anyway, I wanted to get inspired for this trip so I was looking around the interwebs and these are some of my favorite road trip themed finds!

Finally, I found a link for road trip recipes here!

This is only going to be a short road trip but I am hoping that one day I can road trip out West. I've only been out West in an airplane which means you can't see much. I really want to see the Rockies and other national parks so a long road trip is definitely going to be on my bucket list!

If you could choose one place to road trip where would you go? What would you want to see?
