Summer Camp Final Ceremony

I promise this is my last post about the summer camp. Part of the reason I started this blog was to remember events in my life because I have a really bad memory. I really enjoyed working at this summer camp, so it's definitely something I want to remember. The last talent show was also a ceremony. It started out with the students putting on different performances. There was dancing, acting, and singing. I posted the break dancing video in a previous post, but the other performances are in the video below. I also took some pictures, but sorry for the quality they were all taken on my iPhone and I was too lazy too put them through Lightroom.
There were several people from the school administration and the government who came to watch the performances, as well as parents of the campers. During the performances Galiya gave out certificates to the campers. At the end my director handed out certificates to the staff. One thing that surprised me about Russia is that they are always giving out certificates for any kind of participation. It might stem from the Soviet Union, I'm not sure, I just know that my director is always giving out certificates.

Some of us gave speeches when we went to accept our certificates. I felt like I should because they also gave Patrick and me Bashkir honey as a thank you. Alsu and I also gave out awards. She made the awards above out of styrofoam places and ribbon, and we gave them based on the groups performance for all three weeks in our arts and crafts session. We didn't leave the camp until almost two hours after it was supposed to end. Those three weeks flew by and I was definitely a bit depressed as I left the camp.

  1. It looks like a truly lovely experience! Also you need to make a printed book with all your photos and memories!
