Arkansas V.2: Little Rock Central High School

My next post will be an overview of the entire trip, but the first full day I was in Arkansas Becky and Spencer took me to Little Rock Central High School. If you remember the school from history class with the Little Rock Nine? It was that school. I love being super touristy and visiting historic places. It might be the history teacher in me, but I feel like it becomes so much easier to be able to understand history when you go to a place. Plus, I'm going to be THAT teacher that shares pictures from trips.

There is a museum by the school that is a national park and is completely free. It was a really nice museum, but there was just so much to read and look at. I was just imagining bring a class there for a field trip and how overwhelmed they would be. It was still really cool and the gift shop was cute. I wanted to by all the books and videos. Typical, but I should wait until I actually get a teaching job.

Afterwards, we walked to a the gas station across the street. It was a museum too. Gas was 22.5 cents! Then we walked across the street again to the school and took pictures. The school is MASSIVE! It reminded me of the schools I student taught in.
