Mingazheva Street

Mingazheva St, Ufa, Respublika Bashkortostan, Russia, 450078
Besides my street and the street I work on, I find myself walking down Mingazheva street more than other other in the city. There is really nothing special about it, but for some reason I prefer walking on the side without the hospital because it's more peaceful and park-like. The other day I felt like A and I walked circles around the city, but it was such a nice day and things are finally starting to turn green! We went to lunch, then to his house, then to get a set of keys made, then to the post office (where we walked in circles because he was unsure where to go) to pick up the package from Ariana, then we took the bus to Mega, walked to KFC, then we walked back to my house. I was even wearing terrible shoes but somehow managed to make it. I carried my camera with me the whole time only to realize all my photos, except two were taken on Mingazheva.
Curious why the trees all have white around them? Apparently there is some kind of bug here that will destroy trees, so they paint them with the paint to prevent them from doing so. I'm assuming it's some kind of chemical. The painting of trees definitely brings strong vibes of springtime.
I took the house pictures because I had intentions of doing on post solely on houses, but there are just so many I love here that I decided against it. Russian churches and old houses are my favorite things, and I'm going to miss them when I leave.
The place above is where A and I saw the Dolphin concert. It's technically not on Mingazheva, but if you walk to the end of the street you'll see it! I also just started listening to Zemfira even though people have been telling me for ages to listen to her. She's an Ufa native and one of the more popular singers in Russia. Her music is great, and I'm mad at myself that I didn't listen to her sooner because I want to go to a concert. I wish I wasn't leaving! There's still so much I want to do here!

    1. You can discover SO much more than in a car! The only problem is that after not walking for an entire winter my legs hurt after a short time.

  3. All these pics have that "early spring" vibe... blue sky + trees just starting to come back to life. It's so nice!

Also, Jasilyn, who are you nominating as your in-country replacement? Who will be posting fresh updates of old Russian houses and eye-catching buildings? I need to know, please!!! ;)
