I feel...Jasilyn- I am SO glad that you posted this. I feel like I am going through the exact same things right now. It's so frustrating when they are just nasty, and I'm getting a lot of the "you're not my real teacher" comments or "you're not even a real teacher yet" stuff. I really liked the rules that your mentor teacher has given to you (like never talking when they are talking). Do you have any other things like that that you've found helpful? I also really like the last one about not addressing them in front of the whole class- I feel like calling them out makes them feel like they need to save face and "best" you or something. I just feel like I've had such a frustrating/downer week as in I've just been so disappointed in some of their behavior...you know? Sorry for the blog post-length comment, lol! I am just so thankful that you have this blog.
